     Get yourself into a kayak and hit Huron River - West Br., and there are other locations here than Charles Lake, for example Lake Alice. An average amount of precipitation falls at Charles Lake; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Throughout the summer months, highs usually are in the 70's at Charles Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are typically in the  
   20's with temperatures at Charles Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Baraga Lakeside Inn, and lakes are such calm locations, why not go to Cedar Lake.
Glide down the rapids of Peshekee River in a kayak, and if you came for an overnight stay Michigamme Shores Campground is a splendid place to camp.

Craig Lake
This was a great time. A buddy of mine and I grabbed the canoe, tent, and fishing gear and headed out for a week. We overpacked, which made the reasonable portage quite difficult, though. After all the work, we were rewarded with a secluded island camp site about 30 minutes paddle from where we put in. I recommend this lake to anyone that likes to camp or fish. We caught a large number of Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass while we were there, and were quite sad to leave. However, Bring bug repellent.....The horseflies during the day strike fear into the hearts of most mortal men and you can skin the mosquitos to make a coat....
