If you need a spot to stay Americinn - Ironwood, Mi is a fine choice, as expected you could also stop at Joann Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Be careful coming to the Gogebic Range, you might not ever wanna go back home again. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Big Powderhorn Mountain since you're here; while you're here you can take       a hike along the Rainbow Falls Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Gretchen Lake is close to Chaney Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Black River. Yeah, come up here to the Gogebic Range for a wonderful time. There are some good whitewater spots on Planter Creek, and why not stop by McFadyen Dam while you're here. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Chaney Lake. Chaney                  Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Presque Isle Campground is a brilliant local campground, and Comfort Inn Ironwood is a good site to get some rest. At Chaney Lake during the summertime highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 10's while Chaney Lake night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the-10's. Chaney Lake is a good location of normal rainfall; most of the rain falls through June while February is generally the driest month.
