If you like the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Cataract Basin. You'll meet a lot of people from Marquette here; a lovely lake like Mud Lake is a glorious location to visit. Cataract Basin is a good place of typical rainfall; throughout the month of September you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture.       This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Marquette; hey, Green Creek is a perfect local stream. After a long day outdoors Cedar Motor Inn is a great site to spend a night or two, and going for a hike along the Holyoke Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Cataract Basin with overnight lows in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are                  in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Cataract Basin. This lake is so wonderful. Horseshoe Lake Camp Grounds is a magnificent campground nearby, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Suites Marquette is a good choice.
