     Why not take a refreshing hike along the Valley Spur Ski Trail; lakes are such serene sites, why not stop by Gooseneck Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The Haywire Grade ORV Trail offers hiking at its best, and a journey to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is recommended. For the period of the months of summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at Camp Seven Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows  
   in the 0's overnight here at Camp Seven Lake.
Man, is there lots of entertaining stuff to do right next door to Camp Seven Lake. There's nice hiking along the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail; after a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn - Wetmore is a good location to spend a night or two. From a precipitation point of view Camp Seven Lake is a rather normal place; September is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least
 
               moisture. Stay the night at Wide Water Campground, and dry warm beds await you at AmericInn Munising.
Camp Seven Lake is a perfect site to visit for more than one day, Hiawatha Resort and Campground is a perfect site to camp nearby, and a beautiful lake like Van Winkle Lake is a brilliant spot to pop by.

Valley Spur, a favorite Alger County destination of many dedicated cross country skiers, hikers, and mountain bike enthusiasts, is located on M-94 approximately 4 miles south of Munising, Michigan in the Hiawatha National Forest. The 27 mile (45 km) cross country ski trail system is groomed daily or as the need arises from December through April so that the trails are always ready. All trails are groomed for both skate and classic ski. Down hill trails are designed with run out and good sight distance keeping safety in mind. Valley Spur sports a deep snow base getting heavy accumulations from the lake effect snows off Lake Superior which make for a truly unique skiing and snowshoeing experience....
