A wonderful location to camp here at Camp Fifteen Lake is Michigamme Shores Campground, and if you're visiting from Iron Mountain, you won't be the only one. Camp Fifteen Lake is a good place of normal precipitation; during the month of June you get the most rain around here; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Camp Fifteen Lake, you could also go to beautiful Boys Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Michigamme

This was a great time. A buddy of mine and I grabbed the canoe, tent, and fishing gear and headed out for a week. We overpacked, which made the reasonable portage quite difficult, though. After all the work, we were rewarded with a secluded island camp site about 30 minutes paddle from where we put in. I recommend this lake to anyone that likes to camp or fish. We caught a large number of Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass while we were there, and were quite sad to leave. However, Bring bug repellent.....The horseflies during the day strike fear into the hearts of most mortal men and you can skin the mosquitos to make a coat.... |
