     You could also stop by Gilead Lake while you're here at Calhoon Lake; it's close by; Hampton Inn Fremont is a perfect location to get some rest. Prairie River Golf Club is a golf course close to Calhoon Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Calhoon Lake has to offer, you can camp at Coldwater River Campground. Calhoon Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain while January is frequently the driest  
   month. Through the months of summer at Calhoon Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter highs are mostly in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Calhoon Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Calhoon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Manapogo Park is a perfect place for that, and there are plenty of folks from Coldwater here.
 
               That right there is a heap already, but it goes on; Calhoon Lake has it all. Nearby lakes? Sure, Anderson Lake is near Calhoon Lake; if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express FREMONT (ANGOLA AREA) is a nice choice.

This is a nice, family oriented campground. It is the quietest campground I've ever been to. It's quiet in the evening and the morning too. It's wooded, has a decent swiming area, fishing, nice playground, and the bathrooms are quite clean. Also, the people are friendly and they don't overcharge by too much in the camp store. There are badmitten, volleyball nets and horseshoe pits. I would certainly return....
