     Some of the water close by flows, like Cable Lake Creek; if you get bored of Cable Lake you could also check out close by Porter Lake. Yep, outdoors fun stuff to do are really bountiful here at Cable Lake. Perch River has a delightful whitewater paddling spot close by, and a lake close by is Herbs Lake. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Cable Lake you can take a hike along the Pelkie Creek Hunter Walking Trails; lovely scenery and magnificent skiing  
   is what you obtain at Ski Brule.
Cable Lake is a good place of typical rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. Summertime highs at Cable Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit colder of course, typically in the 50's.                so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Cable Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Black House Campground is a magnificent location for that, and a wonderful close by hotel is Americinn - Iron River, Mi.
Skiing at Brule Mountain is one of those things you just must do. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Cable Lake has to offer, you can camp at Perch Lake Campground. Whitewater paddling is good on Paint River, and Best Western Baraga Lakeside Inn is a splendid place to get some rest.

The highlight of Paint River Hills Campground is its hiking trail along the Paint River. The loop trail, about half-mile long, winds through and around the rock bluffs and hills that form the banks of the Paint River and for years has been the playground of local youngsters. The name “Paint River Hills” is the term used by locals to describe the location of the campground. Youngsters have named other areas such as Peeper Hollow, Big Rock Candy Mountain, White Pine Lookout, Fairy Tale Swamp, Rock Fort, Thistle Swamp and Camel Back Lookout.

As the trail leads you to several lookouts down the river identification signs greet you naming trees in native Ojibwa as well as Latin and English. You will wind through an old white cedar stand and see rare quartz rock outcroppings. You will have an opportunity to see abundant wildlife, which considers this area along the Paint River its sanctuary, and hear the sound of the Paint River as it winds its way downstream to...
