The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while Butterfield Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. Hess Lake Mobile Home is always a tremendous experience, and dry warm beds await you at Baymont Inn & Suites Grand Rapids North/Walker. A typical amount of rain falls here at Butterfield Lake; during the month of August you get
the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. Briar Hill Golf Course is a fine golf course close by; a lake nearby is Hess Lake.

Croton Dam Float Trips

Rustic Camping also available on a limited basis. As of April 15, 2009 we have two seasonal electric sites available for rent this season. Rate is $700. 00 for the year. Our camping rates nightly are $12. 00 for non-power sites and $15. 00 for electrical sites. No running water/hand pump. No dump station. Outhouses and porta- potties in the busy summer season.
Excellent smallmouth & largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye fishing on the backwaters to Croton Dam and also north about 5 miles on the backwaters of Hardy Dam. Spring steelhead runs, rainbow & german brown trout, and fall salmon runs down on the river itself below the dam.
We do not offer river services for the Little Muskegon River.
