A good close by hotel is Comfort Inn Plainwell, and you'll stumble on a delightful lake called Snow Lake. What a location this is for outdoors people. This is a popular place for people from Grand Rapids-Wyoming, and if you're a golfer then a splendid nearby course is Mullenhurst Golf Course. The slopes of Bittersweet are so inviting noone can resist, and Kalamazoo River is a nice whitewater spot nearby. Why not camp at Parkside Park if you're here at Bullhead

Barlow Lake
Bob Dibble again: looking for the Palmer family and the Parker family that used to live at Barlow lake back in the 1950's. If you are out there, please respond....I am 71 years old now and spent my 10 to 20 years old summers at Barlow lake. Visited there a couple of years ago after not being there for 40 years and found an old friend still living there - Al (Alfie) Lewis living at the old mill....
Miller Lake Campground
12 miles away We LOVE Miller Lake!!! Hopefully we will be back again this year for the fourth of July.......
Campbell Lake
13 miles away i like to fish this lake in the winter time...
Bristol Lake
17 miles away Excellent crappie fishery. Also excellent ice fishing for gills....
Bittersweet
17 miles away Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area....
Cannonsburg
27 miles away This is like a local little ski hill but places like Cannonsburg are good when you really gotta go skiing for a few hours. It's not like Colorado but it's nice to get your ski muscles warmed up a bit and suck in some refreshing winter air....
Timber Ridge
29 miles away It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill....
