After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Minocqua is a great spot to spend a night or two. Lakes? Sure,       Hawthorn Lake is in close proximity. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Buckthorn Lake get into the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. During the winter the highs are typically in the 10's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Buckthorn Lake fall into the-10's. Buckthorn Lake is located in the Gogebic Range. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Going for a hike on the Alligator Eye                  Trail is always a good adventure; Presque Isle is a magnificent whitewater spot nearby. Buckthorn Lake is a good spot of common rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Concord Inn, and the skiing at Indianhead is magnificent. There's so much to do here at Buckthorn Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Presque Isle Campground is a good spot for that, and in the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Presque Isle.   Comfort Inn Minocqua, Minocqua 18 miles away Located on North end of Downtown Minocqua.
