     Buckeye Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Lookout Tower Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and Ross Lake is a brilliant lake close by. Big Lake Campground is a brilliant campground nearby, and a delightful lake like Little Buckeye Lake is a good place to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Newberry, and if you need a place to stay Americas Best Value Inn is a pleasant choice. Summertime at Buckeye  
   Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's while night lows are mostly in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are usually in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Buckeye Lake.
Buckeye Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; through September this area sees the most rain; the driest month is February.

Most sites are grassy and have a mix of sun and shade and are mostly level with some having pads for the large RV's; there are pull throughs too.  We welcome big rigs, tents and anything inbetween!  We have some excellent spots to situate a group camping atmosphere or family reunion.  If you are a bird watcher, we are 3 miles south of Seney National Wildlife Refuge and offer canoe/kayak rentals through the refuge. Pets are welcomed with courtesy rules enforced.  Reservations are welcomed...
