Beautiful Bradford Lake has much to offer visitors. If you're a golfer then a wonderful close by course is Eagle Mountain Golf Course, and you can run the rapids of Brule River. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites IRON MOUNTAIN, and camping is available at Iron Mountain Campgrounds.

| | in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Bradford Lake temperatures drop to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. You could also explore Dyer Lake since you're here at Bradford Lake; it's close by; why not camp at Rivers Bend Campground if you're here at Bradford Lake. Menominee River is a glorious whitewater spot close to Bradford Lake, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Iron Mountain is a delightful place to spend a night or two. From a precipitation point
of view Bradford Lake is a rather typical place; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while February is mostly the driest month. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have fun. Badwater Creek is a nice local stream, and a lake nearby is Browning Lake.

I just took a 30 mile trip down this river with a group of 6 and three canoes. I thought it was great overall. There are a few shallow spots where we had to get out of the boat and pull it through the water but otherwise the depth is good. As far as the quote ''pretty good campgrounds'' go, these were not easily found but can be set up in the less dense forests alongside the water. The stretch over the hemlock rapids is a bit difficult on the lower hemlock but the upper is an exciting though slightly wet ride. The overall current throughout the river is not too fast so some paddling is needed. Thats about it, this is a great river. The scenery is beautiful, and if your staying overnight the stars are miraculous, so enjoy the view. If your in the trees alot watch out for ticks, (they found me well) but other than that, enjoy the ride.... |
