You can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Caberfae Peaks, and why not camp at Hammarstead Lake Camp Ground since you're here at Boot Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Pine River in a kayak, and if you came for an overnight stay Beaver Lake Camp Grounds is a wonderful spot to camp. A brilliant nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Evart, Mi, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Mud Lake.

We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |

Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |
