     Nearby lakes? Sure, Stewart Lake is in the neighborhood of Blue Lakes; you can run the rapids of Sturgeon River. Blue Lakes is a splendid site to visit for more than one day, Shady Acres Campground is a splendid site to camp nearby, and a tremendous close by hotel is Otsego Club and Resort. Blue Lakes really is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. This is a nice region for people who like lakes. Walled Lake is a lake in the vicinity; Elkwood Campground  
   is a delightful local campground.
Summer brings highs in the 80's to Blue Lakes. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Blue Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Some nearby water includes Hardwood Creek, and if you need a location to stay Treetops Resort is a fine choice. The amount of rainfall that falls at Blue Lakes is close to the national average; September is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
