Blacksmith Lake truly is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise. Blacksmith Lake is right by the Hungerford Cross Country Ski Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Briar Hill Golf Course not far from Blacksmith Lake; Hoyt Lake is a good lake nearby. Camping at Big Bend Park is always a fine experience; the Newaygo County       Snowmobile Trail offers hiking at its best. A nice spot to camp here at Blacksmith Lake is White River Roughing Area Campground, and there are other places here than Blacksmith Lake, for example Trout Lake. High temperatures at Blacksmith Lake throughout the summertime months are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while Blacksmith Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the winter are                  in the 10's.
