A normal amount of rain falls here at Big Mud Lake; September is when you get the most rain here; February is the month with the least moisture. Playing golf is lots of fun at Wawonowin Country Club; if you get bored of Big Mud Lake you could also stop by nearby Cooper Lake. Michigamme Shores Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. This       lake is so wonderful. There is a fine hiking trail right next door to Big Mud Lake called the Holyoke Trail, and Big Mud Lake is not far at all from Marquette. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Big Mud Lake. Best Western Country Inn is a great place to get some rest, and Barnhardt Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out. Throughout the warm months at Big Mud Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's. During the                  moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Big Mud Lake.
