If the weather is magnificent here at Big Island Lake, you can go for a hike along the Valley Spur Ski Trail. McKeever Lake is a perfect lake in close proximity to Big Island Lake, and why not take a little trip to Grassy Creek while you're here. Have a good hiking adventure along the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail; lakes are such calm places, why not explore Byers Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm       beds await you at Comfort Inn Munising, and Big Island Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Island Lake Campground is a delightful local campground. While you're here at Big Island Lake you can take a hike along the Haywire Grade ORV Trail. There's so much to do here at Big Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wide Water Campground is a brilliant place for that. Big Island Lake is a good spot of normal rain; the month of September                  is the wettest with most of the rain while February is commonly the driest month. That right there is a lot already, but it goes on; Big Island Lake has it all. AmericInn Munising is a perfect site to get some rest, and do pay a visit to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore while you're here at Big Island Lake. Through the summertime at Big Island Lake highs are frequently in the 70's; the overnight is fairly cooler of course, usually in the 50's.
