This is a glorious area for folks who like lakes. Madelyn Lake is a lake nearby, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Ontonagon River - Middle Branch. Bela Lake gets a common amount of annual rainfall; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain while February is frequently the driest month. For the duration of the months of summer highs here at Bela Lake get into the 70's, and during the night it

| | cools down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are usually in the 10's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Bela Lake descend into the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Camping at Tepee Lake Campground and Picnic Area is always a pleasant experience, and the skiing at Brule Mountain is great.
