Beaton Lake is a good site of normal rainfall; most of the rain falls through September, and February is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Beaton Lake during the warm months are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's.       High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Beaton Lake are in the 0's. Go for a hike on the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail, and camping at Wide Water Campground is always a nice experience. Don't leave Beaton Lake without first going for a hike along the Lakeshore Trail; a tremendous close by hotel is Americas Best Value Inn - Wetmore. This lake is so wonderful. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great planet it would be. AmericInn Munising is a good site to get some rest. Lakes? Sure, Crooked Lake is in the vicinity.
