If you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel - Evart, Mi is a great choice, and why not head up to Caberfae Peaks and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Pine River, and obviously, this is a perfect region for folks who like lakes, Penasa Lake is a lake nearby. The great people of Cadillac like to hang out close by; Bass Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Hammarstead Lake Camp Ground is a great local

| | campground. From a rain point of view Bass Lake is a quite common site; September is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
For the duration of the summertime months at Bass Lake highs are frequently in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Bass Lake fall into the 0's. | |

We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |

Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |
