Bass Lake is a nice lake to visit. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Gogebic Range. While you're here at Bass Lake, you could also pop by wonderful Clark Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Gogebic Range. While you're here at Bass Lake you can take a hike along the Rainbow Falls Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Ontonagon County Park Campground and Picnic Area is a glorious spot to
   camp.
The amount of precipitation that falls at Bass Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is commonly June, that's the one that rains the most while February is mostly the driest month. Summer at Bass Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 10's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Bass Lake dip into

the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Big Powderhorn Mountain close by, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Little Carp River.
That right there is a lot of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Gogebic Range has it all. Have a good hiking adventure along the Alligator Eye Trail, and Henry Lake Campground is a fine campground nearby. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Indianhead; Lily Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Bass Lake. Get soaked paddling on Presque Isle, and getting to Kinglet Creek from Bass Lake is painless.

Indianhead
13 miles away
The vertical drop is relatively ok at Indianhead, not bad at all....Hey, Charles here, gotta tell you, Indianhead rules. It's the only place I go to locally and so do all my friends and they all agree too that Indianhead rules around here and as far as I know everyone else in the state too....

Armour Lake
19 miles away
My aunt and uncle, Della and Deac Vilutis, owned the resort in the 50's and early 60's. I have many memories if my dad and I fishing on all those lakes. It was truly a beautiful area to grow up in....The lake is spring fed and is connected to Horsehead lake via river and also to North Crab lake and Crab lake. Walleye, large mouth bass, Muskellunge, Northern Pike and sunfish are native to this lake. The lake is 355 acres which host Bill's Island, a public campground that is accessable via boat/canoe. There is one state owned access to this lake on the north side. Many years ago, Armour Lake Resort had been built by my great, great uncle and then owned in the early 40's by my parents who are now both deceased. The resort has since been purchased as a private residence. As a child growing up we have some wonderful memories about this beautiful, spring fed lake. I miss it....

Blackjack
20 miles away
I wonder if blackjack is going to open for the 2009-2010 ski season....
