You can run the rapids of Pine River next to Bass Lake, and Bass Lake is a glorious location to visit for more than one day, Windsor Dam Campground is a glorious location to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a brilliant little spree to Bass Creek, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Ski Brule. There's magnificent hiking along the Lauterman Trail, and don't leave Bass Lake without first going for a hike along the Kimball Creek Trail. A great nearby hotel is Best Western Crandon Inn & Suites, and Brule River is a perfect whitewater spot close by.
