Michigan has many beautiful lakes and Base Line Lake is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Base Line Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Swan Lake Campground is a good spot for that, and if you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Allegan. During the months of summer highs here at Base Line Lake reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's,

| | and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Base Line Lake drop into the 10's. Just can't get enough of Base Line Lake. While you're here at Base Line Lake, you could also check out delightful Minkler Lake, and if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a tremendous choice.

resist. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Shamrock Hills Golf Club is close at hand. From a rainfall point of view Base Line Lake is a quite typical spot; most of the rain falls all through September while February
is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Stay the night at Camp Kaskitowa, and hey, Gotta ski right? Bittersweet is a pleasant location to do that. Do check out Hillman Lake in the neighborhood of Base Line Lake, it's a gorgeous lake, and get dripping wet paddling on Kalamazoo River.

 | It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill.... |

Bittersweet
| Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |

Can the general public access the lake or is it private for Greenspire residents?...Hampton lake is a public lake in Portage south of Centre street, about a 1/3 of a mile east of US 131. It does not have a public access, I'm not even sure gas powered boats are allowed, but they're not needed because the lake is not very big. But it is spring fed and DNR stocked so it is very clean and very good fishing. I live in Greenspire Apartments which is partially on the lake and my roommate and I fish Hampton lake often. Swiss Valley is a great place to ski or snowboard, dedicated to keeping the terrain interesting and excellently groomed. Snowmaking and deicated staff also provide the best kept terrain parks in southwest Michigan. The facilities offer a full service restaurant with food, spirits and live enteratinment most weekends, a cafeteria, group gathering areas and a separate learning area.
Swiss Valley also has very affordable learn to ski and snowboard programs for the entire family....
