A visit to Barker Lake is always a good idea. Barker Lake gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain while February is typically the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Super 8 Motel - Grayling is a perfect choice, and not far from Barker Lake you'll come across Simpson Lakes which is a charming lake. If only every site had this much outdoors entertaining

Dry warm beds await you at AuSable Valley Hotel and Conference Center, and golf can be played at Grayling Country Club. you can camp at Hutt's Camp and Canoeing. Lakes are good; Shellenbarger Lake is a lake that's next to Barker Lake; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Hanson Hills.

They always have something going on for the kids, I think that's great.?? Clean pool, well kept grounds.....it's a great place to vacation.?? See ya there, Patty...My wife and I have stayed there for 2 years now and we'll be paying for next year in advance very soon .Dave and Tina are two of the nicest Owners you ever could ask for.The campground is excellent. The pool ,pond,train rides and all the other activities will keep even the bored kids wanting to come back every weekend.Just ask our niece !Its quiet,shady and sites are BIG .So don't delay, and I hope to meet you soon ,Jeff Kocur -lot #21... |

 | 17 miles away 3 PHOTOS ...e entire ski area and have a new terrain park with 12 features for their own private use.The new terrain park contains 2 flat 10' beginner rails as well as a 20' intermediate round rail. There are some challenging additions such as a beginner 16' battle ship kinked rail as well as a 16' intermediate rainbow rail. In addition, there are man-made and natural jib features such as barrels, and logs that can be used to slide or jump over or tap with skis or boards. Nordic enthusiasts will find the ''Midwest's best terrain'' for cross-country skiing. The 12 km of groomed and tracked trails are all clearly marked and range in difficulty from beginner to expert. Treetops also offers extreme (snow) tubing. The tubing ride is available by 1.5 hour sessions for up to 30 people at a time. Advance reservations can be made for this exhilarating experience. Tubing is separate from the ski area and is available for a ''ride on the wild side.'' While the snow at Treetops is usually abundant, state of the art snowmaking and grooming equipment can pile up the snow and have it groomed into fresh blanket... |
