Banner Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. The Gogebic Range scenery is always beautiful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Minocqua; going for a hike along the Alligator Eye Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. The warmest time of the year at Banner Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 10's

This lake is so wonderful. Moosehead Lake Campground is a pleasant campground nearby; get soaked paddling on Presque Isle. Just can't get enough of Banner Lake. Armour Lake
| My aunt and uncle, Della and Deac Vilutis, owned the resort in the 50's and early 60's. I have many memories if my dad and I fishing on all those lakes. It was truly a beautiful area to grow up in....The lake is spring fed and is connected to Horsehead lake via river and also to North Crab lake and Crab lake. Walleye, large mouth bass, Muskellunge, Northern Pike and sunfish are native to this lake. The lake is 355 acres which host Bill's Island, a public campground that is accessable via boat/canoe. There is one state owned access to this lake on the north side. Many years ago, Armour Lake Resort had been built by my great, great uncle and then owned in the early 40's by my parents who are now both deceased. The resort has since been purchased as a private residence. As a child growing up we have some wonderful memories about this beautiful, spring fed lake. I miss it.... |
