Badwater Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Badwater Lake is a good place of normal rain; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Stay the night at Iron Mountain Campgrounds, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Iron Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. You can take a little visit to Twin Falls Dam while you're here at Badwater Lake; Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites IRON MOUNTAIN is a brilliant spot to get some rest. Badwater Creek is a magnificent local stream, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Dyer Lake. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Norway Mountain, and this is a popular site for folks from Iron Mountain.

This lake is so wonderful. Eagle Mountain Golf Course is a nice golf course close by. This place, Badwater Lake, it truly has so much outdoors cool stuff. Badwater Lake is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Rivers Bend
Campground is a pleasant place to camp nearby; if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Menominee River. High temperatures at Badwater Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 70's. For
the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Badwater Lake plunge into the-10's.

Paint River

I just took a 30 mile trip down this river with a group of 6 and three canoes. I thought it was great overall. There are a few shallow spots where we had to get out of the boat and pull it through the water but otherwise the depth is good. As far as the quote ''pretty good campgrounds'' go, these were not easily found but can be set up in the less dense forests alongside the water. The stretch over the hemlock rapids is a bit difficult on the lower hemlock but the upper is an exciting though slightly wet ride. The overall current throughout the river is not too fast so some paddling is needed. Thats about it, this is a great river. The scenery is beautiful, and if your staying overnight the stars are miraculous, so enjoy the view. If your in the trees alot watch out for ticks, (they found me well) but other than that, enjoy the ride.... |
