There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Lake Bacon called the Holyoke Trail, and a good location to camp here at Lake Bacon is Country Village RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Pilot Knob is easily observed from Lake Bacon, and a lake close by is Baby Lake. From a rain point of view Lake Bacon is a pretty typical spot; the wettest month of the year is frequently September, that's the one that       rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. You need to stop at Last Bluff if you're here at Lake Bacon, and camping is available at Horseshoe Lake Camp Grounds. So many amusing things to do here at Lake Bacon, too good to be true. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Grass Lake is right close by, and you can run the rapids of Escanaba River - Middle Branch. Summertime highs at Lake Bacon commonly tend to be in the 70's.
