Asylum Lake is a lake worth visiting. Throughout the days of summer highs here at Asylum Lake get into the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are commonly in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Asylum Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. Gotta ski! Timber Ridge is a good spot to do that, and Kalamazoo River is a good whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. The Prairies Golf Club is a pleasant golf course close by; this is a popular place for people from Kalamazoo-Portage.
