A lake close by is Albino Lake, and if you need a location to stay Wild Eagle Lodge is a fine choice. Summertime highs at Amik Lake generally tend to be in the 70's; the overnight is rather colder of course, regularly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Amik Lake temperatures drop to the-10's. An average       amount of rainfall falls at Amik Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Ontonagon River - Middle Branch; why not take a refreshing hike along the North Country National Scenic Trail. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Ontonagon River, and camping at Amik Lake is great fun, Wolf Campground is a great local campground.                  Why not camp at Coyote Campground while you're here at Amik Lake, and playing golf is lots of fun at Lac Vieux Desert Golf Course. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the neighborhood of Amik Lake will keep you coming back time and again.
