You can run the rapids of Ontonagon River - South Branch right next door to Amber Lake, and why not camp at Robbins Pond Campground if you're here at Amber Lake. If you came       for an overnight stay Paulging Pond Campground and Picnic Area is a good place to camp, and you can have a fine hiking adventure along the North Country National Scenic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent location for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Amber Lake is Ontonagon River - Middle Branch, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Perttu's Big Spruce Golf Course.
