Timber Ridge is a fine local ski area; Ackley Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pioneer Campground is a great local campground. For the period of the warm days of summer here at Ackley Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. The wintertime       comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Ackley Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. One of the principal highlights of the surroundings of Ackley Lake is Prospect Hill, and if you're dropping by from Kalamazoo-Portage, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Kalamazoo River for all you adrenaline junkies. If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Paw Paw is a wonderful                  choice, and not far from Ackley Lake you'll stumble on Sand Lake which is a striking lake. The amount of rainfall that falls at Ackley Lake is close to the national average; through September this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
