Ackland Lake is not the only site nearby, Little Lake is a nearby lake, and a great close by hotel is Rodeway Inn Coopersville. Hiking along the Newaygo County Snowmobile Trail is glorious fun, unsurprisingly you could also explore Bass Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Going for a hike along the Horseshoe Lake Cycle Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; you can stay the night at Lake Park Campground. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in close proximity to Ackland Lake will keep you coming back time and again. If the weather is pleasant here at Ackland Lake, you can go for a hike along the Cedar Creek Cycle Trail. | |

This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Ackland Lake you can play some golf at Village Green Golf Club, and Ackland Lake is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Salmon Run Campground Canoes is a tremendous place
to camp nearby. Ackland Lake gets a common amount of yearly rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is frequently the driest month.

Croton Dam Float Trips
 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO ...ay 1, 2009. Reservations highly recommended as we offer the lowest rates on the Muskegon River in the Newaygo Area for your river adventures.
Rustic Camping also available on a limited basis. As of April 15, 2009 we have two seasonal electric sites available for rent this season. Rate is $700. 00 for the year. Our camping rates nightly are $12. 00 for non-power sites and $15. 00 for electrical sites. No running water/hand pump. No dump station. Outhouses and porta- potties in the busy summer season.
Excellent smallmouth & largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye fishing on the backwaters to Croton Dam and also north about 5 miles on the backwaters of Hardy Dam. Spring steelhead runs, rainbow & german brown trout, and fall salmon runs down on the river itself below the dam.
We do not offer river services for the Little Muskegon River.
We do offer a car spotting service to take your vehicles down river while you boat, canoe, or kayak the river. We also provide transportation services for individuals and their own equipment for a reasonable fee.
