There's some flowing water nearby, Cold Creek is a stream you can check out while here; going for a hike on the Newaygo County Snowmobile Trail is always a delightful adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Briar Hill Golf Course, and camping at Parks and Recreation Dept is always a delightful experience. If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn BIG RAPIDS is a nice choice, and a wonderful location to camp here at Abeys Lake is American Adventure

Croton Dam Float Trips
 | 1 PHOTO ...nt rentals beginning May 1, 2009. Reservations highly recommended as we offer the lowest rates on the Muskegon River in the Newaygo Area for your river adventures.
Rustic Camping also available on a limited basis. As of April 15, 2009 we have two seasonal electric sites available for rent this season. Rate is $700. 00 for the year. Our camping rates nightly are $12. 00 for non-power sites and $15. 00 for electrical sites. No running water/hand pump. No dump station. Outhouses and porta- potties in the busy summer season.
Excellent smallmouth & largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye fishing on the backwaters to Croton Dam and also north about 5 miles on the backwaters of Hardy Dam. Spring steelhead runs, rainbow & german brown trout, and fall salmon runs down on the river itself below the dam.
We do not offer river services for the Little Muskegon River.
