Dry warm beds await       you at Sunday River, and there are pleasant places to explore along the Speck Pond Trail. Summertime at York Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at York Pond temperatures plunge to the 0's. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the White Mountains. Looking for some flowing                  water? Try Black Brook, and you can hit the slopes at Mount Abram nearby. Any time is a pleasant time at York Pond if you love the outdoors. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Sunday River, and a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Bear. York Pond is one of the lakes here in the White Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from York Pond, you'll locate North Pond which is a gorgeous lake, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Old Speck Mountain Trail. The yearly rain here at York Pond is about average; most of the rain falls throughout August; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful.
