Good hiking is available along the Alder Brook Trail; get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Penobscot River - South Branch. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Wounded Deer Pond; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are perfect; Welman Pond is a lake that's near Wounded Deer Pond; don't leave Wounded Deer Pond without first going for a hike

| | along the Bald Mountain Trail. At Wounded Deer Pond through the summer months highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Wounded Deer Pond are in the-10's. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Wounded Deer Pond has to offer, you can camp at Jackman Landing Campground, and there's fine hiking along the Sally Mountain Trail. | |
