If you are in this part of Maine make sure to pay a visit to Woodman Pond. Near Woodman Pond you find the Carry Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail; whitewater paddling is perfect on Smith Brook. There's so much to do here at Woodman Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Frost Pond Campground is a good place for that, and get soaked paddling on Ellis Brook. | | the winter highs are regularly in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Woodman Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody close by loves skiing at Big Squaw, and the Telephone Trail is a great hiking trail close by. The amount of rainfall that falls at Woodman Pond is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is February. Going for a hike on the Old Telos Tote Road is always a great adventure.
