Ovens. A fine close by hotel is Best Western Inn, and Hamilton Pond Dam is not far at all from Lake Wood. If you came to camp Mt Desert Campground is a good place to do that, and paddling on Union River is so much fun. For the
period of the days of summer at Lake Wood highs are usually in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Wood
temperatures fall to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Conners Nubble Trail, and do pay a visit to Acadia National Park if you're here at Lake Wood. Lake Wood regularly gets a lot of rain; of all the months
in a year November is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is August. You could also take a look at Aunt Betty Pond while you're here at Lake Wood; it's close by; on a pretty day you get a splendid panorama of Brewer Mountain from Lake Wood.
