    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Wizard Pond. Wizard Pond regularly gets a large amount of precipitation; November is the wettest month with most rain while August is typically the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. On a delightful day you obtain a vista of Black Mountain from Wizard Pond, and don't miss out on a visit to Acadia National Park since you're here.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend
 
   Narraguagus River; why not take a refreshing hike along the Bar Island Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The Harborside Hotel and Marina is a fine spot to get some rest; if you're looking for a beach nearby we recommend Black Beach. Camping at Mountain View Campground is always a delightful experience; you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the The Anvil Trail.
Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Wizard Pond.
 
               If you come at the right time of year, Narraguagus River - West Branch offers some splendid whitewater, and do take a hike on the Schoodic Head Trail. Summertime at Wizard Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Wizard Pond. A splendid close by hotel is Bar Harbor Inn, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Schoodic Beach.
If you came to camp Mountainview Campground is a good spot to do that; there are other spots here than Wizard Pond, for example Little Tunk Pond.
