Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff right next door to White Lake. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch, and needless to say Cold Brook flows through this vicinity. This lake is so wonderful.
While you're here at White Lake, you could also stop by scenic Spaulding Lake, and if you need a place to stay Shiretown Motor Inn is a magnificent choice.
Going for a hike along the Kennedy Tote Road will let you absorb the natural
beauty of this region, and White Lake is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Bear Mountain Lodge is a delightful place to camp nearby.
