You'll need more than a day to explore everything Whetstone Pond has to offer, you can camp at Balsam woods Campground, and Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a splendid site to get some rest. The warmest time of the year at Whetstone Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are       normally in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Whetstone Pond. One of the dominant marks of the surroundings of Whetstone Pond is Little Russell Mountain, and Whetstone Pond is not the only spot close by, Punchbowl Pond is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Intake Trail; glide down the rapids of Piscataquis River in a kayak. All the water falling down from the sky makes Whetstone Pond a wet spot; July is                  the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. So many enjoyable things to do at Whetstone Pond, so little time. There's so much to do here at Whetstone Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Wildwood Shores Campground is a splendid site for that; dry warm beds await you at Bingham Motor Inn. Bennett Brook flows through this area, and if you come at the right time of year, Kingsbury Stream offers some nice whitewater.
