Eastern Lake is close by, and on a beautiful day you get a great sight of Estey Mountain from Western Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Western Lake is a glorious site to visit for more than one day, Cobscook Bay State Park is a glorious site to camp nearby, and some of the water close by flows, like Cranberry Brook. What a place this is for outdoors people. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for       you then we recommend Hobart Stream, and why not check out Deep Cove also while you're here. Knowlton's Seashore Campground is a good local campground, and in all probability you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Roaring Lake is just a very short distance away. High temperatures at Western Lake all through the summer are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's while Western Lake                  nighttime low temperatures all through the winter are in the 0's. If you haven’t been to Roosevelt Campobello International Park, you have to schedule some time for it while you're here. Western Lake generally gets lots of rain; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July.
