As you approach the pond from the South on Rt. 160, you are met by a breathtaking view of Mt. Washington which is 40 miles away. The water in west pond is crystal clear, and you can often hear the loons. There is a large area around the pond that is protected in tree growth, so the pond will never face additional stress of building. There is also no public access for boats, and that keeps it quiet and free of the kind of noise and congestion you see in popular lakes elsewhere. West Pond beyond doubt is in the middle of a charming outdoors paradise. Gotta ski! Shawnee Peak is a nice place to do that, and paddling on Ossipee River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of King Pine are so inviting noone can resist, and if you came for an overnight stay River Run Canoe Rental and Camping is a magnificent spot to camp. West Pond is a wet location that gets a lot of precipitation; the month       with most of the rain is November, and the driest month of the year is September. Through the summertime months here at West Pond, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at West Pond are in the 0's. A magnificent nearby hotel is Oxford House Inn, and camping is available at Windsong Campgrounds. Pleasant                  Mountain Inn is a great location to get some rest. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not visit Spruce Pond close to West Pond, and you can distinguish Bickford Hill from West Pond.
