West Branch Penobscot River Reservoir is a great place to visit for more than one day, Pine Grove Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and Medway Dam is a scenic location. This lake is so wonderful. Katahdin Shadows Campground is a perfect campground nearby; there are delightful spots to discover along the Gray Ledge Dam Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to West       Branch Penobscot River Reservoir while night lows are mostly in the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are usually in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at West Branch Penobscot River Reservoir drop into the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn; there's some flowing water close by, East Branch Penobscot River is a stream you can have a look at while here. Going                  for a hike on the Sandbank Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and you're sure to bump into some nice people from Bangor here.
