    If you are in Piscataquis county it's always a good idea to stop by Wassataquoik Lake. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Wassataquoik Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Wassataquoik Lake nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's. The amount of rain that falls at Wassataquoik Lake is close to the national average; during the month of July you get the most rain around here;  
   February meanwhile is the driest month. Dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn.
But wait, there's more to do right next door to Wassataquoik Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Chimney Pond Campground is a great site to camp; you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Old Pogy Road. If the weather is beautiful, you obtain a good panorama of North Pogy Mountain from Wassataquoik Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Nesowadnehunk Stream. Going
 
               for a hike along the Howe will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; while you're here at Wassataquoik Lake, checking out Snub Pitch is a must.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Wassataquoik Lake you can take a hike along the Northwest Basin Trail, and get wet paddling on Nesowadnehunk Stream River. Camping is available at South Branch Pond Campground; don't leave Wassataquoik Lake without first paying a visit to Green Falls.
