People from Augusta-Waterville love to come to Ward Pond; a glorious sight of picturesque Quaker Hill is available. Head up to Eaton Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and on a glorious day you can stop at Great Sidney Bog, a swamp in the vicinity of Ward Pond. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cobbosseecontee Stream, and dry warm beds await you at       Comfort Inn Civic Center. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Ward Pond, and the overnight is slightly chillier of course, usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Ward Pond sink into the 0's. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Ward Pond; throughout November this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. There are                  splendid spots to explore along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and Fairfield Inn & Suites Augusta is a delightful place to get some rest.
