Chase Pond Mountain is wonderful and can be seen from Viles Pond, and there's whitewater on Dead River - North Branch for all you adrenaline junkies. Camping at Cathedral Pines Camping Area is always a wonderful experience, and a short spree to Shadagee Falls is always worthwhile. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Chase Pond, and there are some great whitewater spots on Cupsuptic       River. Viles Pond gets a normal amount of rainfall; July is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A glorious site to camp here at Viles Pond is Black Arrow Lodge, and Saddleback is a tremendous local ski area. You could also pop by Little Viles Pond if you're here at Viles Pond; it's close by, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Viles Pond; Arnold Pond Trail is a pleasant local trail.                  Having a pleasant time at Viles Pond is painless. Some of the water nearby flows, like Alder Stream, and magnificent hiking is available along the Morrell Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bigelow Range Trail; the slopes of Sugarloaf USA are so inviting noone can resist. All through the months of summer here at Viles Pond, high temperatures typically get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's.
