    Vaughn Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Senator Inn & Spa; the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a delightful hiking trail close by. And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool stuff just keep reading. Lakes are such serene places, why not check out Cascade Pond near Vaughn Pond; a magnificent location for whitewater paddling is Cobbosseecontee Stream. Stay the night at Foggy Bottom Marine.
 
   High temperatures at Vaughn Pond during the summer months are in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Vaughn Pond. After a long day outdoors Americas Best Inns-Augusta is a wonderful location to spend a night or two, and Britts Shoal is a splendid location to spend some time. There are plenty of people from Augusta-Waterville here at Vaughn Pond,  
               and Vaughn Brook Dam is not far at all from Vaughn Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Vaughn Pond has to offer, you can camp at Augusta/Gardiner KOA, and playing golf is lots of fun at Kennebec Heights Country Club. The high level of rain makes Vaughn Pond a rather wet site; the month with most of the rain is November, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. The view of Howard Hill from Vaughn Pond is delightful, and why not take a little visit to Vaughn Brook while you're here.
You'll find a charming lake called Hallowell Recreation Pond near Vaughn Pond, and Shepard Point is around here and always magnificent to have a look at.

Fun short spot, We made it a overnight trip and had a good old time. There needs to be a bunch of water in this stream to even make it doable. on 4/20 we were scooting-ass over many shallow spots in our yaks. Fun drops with laziness inbetween make for a good time especially for the novice....

Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends.
The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan....
