    Go to Upper Patten Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. Bowden Hill Brook is a stream that you may encounter while here, and Hales Beach is a scenic beach to stop at. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Branch Lake Stream has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby; Branch Lake Camping Area is a perfect local campground. There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Upper Patten Pond called the Blue Hill Trail, and if you need a place to stay  
   Comfort Inn Ellsworth is a brilliant choice.
At Upper Patten Pond through the long summer days highs are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Upper Patten Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps can be such out of the ordinary sites, check out Carlisle Meadow since you're here at Upper Patten Pond, and going for a hike on the Peaked Mountain Trail is always a brilliant
 
               adventure.
