Goose River Reservoir is a perfect lake close to Upper Mason Pond; you can go for a hike on the Mount Megunticook Trail. Be careful coming to Upper Mason Pond, you might not ever want to go back home again. If you came for an overnight stay The Moorings Campground is a brilliant spot to camp, and the slopes       of New Hermon Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. All through the summer here at Upper Mason Pond, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Upper Mason Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort is a good local campground, and let's not forget Goose River which is a stream that you may run into                  while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Searsport Pines Golf Course is always a pleasure, and if you need a spot to stay Seascape Motel & Cottages is a brilliant choice. Upper Mason Pond gets lots of water; through November this area sees the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Belfast Harbor Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest, and if you're popping by from Rockland, you won't be the only one. You can run the rapids of Ducktrap River in close proximity to Upper Mason Pond; everybody nearby loves skiing at Camden. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Mount Battie Trail. Lakes? Sure, Mason Pond is around here. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Upper Mason Pond.
