On a pleasant day at Upper Deadwater you can take a hike along the American Thread Company Road, and hey, Cut Brook is a nice local stream. After a long day outdoors Katahdin Inn is a great site to spend a night or two, and Seboeis River is a delightful whitewater spot                  nearby. Upper Deadwater gets a normal amount of yearly rain; most of the rain falls through July, and the driest of the months is February. There is a good hiking trail close to Upper Deadwater called the Jerry Pond Tote Road.
